Location, Location, Location! Southwest Florida has so much to offer for young families and retirees alike. Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte, Englewood, North Port, and Venice are a Few of the towns located in the Southwest Florida area.
The historic City of Punta Gorda was founded in 1882 as the town of Trabue. In years to follow Punta Gorda became known as the fishing village and continues to offer an amazing variety of fishing within the Charlotte Harbor, including red fish, grouper, mackerel, drum, mullet, cobia and blue crab! The City of Punta Gorda offers the quaint small town feel with brick streets, historic landmarks, weekend festivals, lots of restaurants, waterfront parks, and the Punta Gorda Pathways System to facilitiate pedestrian traffic.
Just across the bridge to the Charlotte Harbor, is the town of Port Charlotte, which is at the North end of the Charlotte Harbor Estuary. The majority of the population of Charlotte County lives within Port Charlotte. Located on the Charlotte Harbor, Port Charlotte is also a very popular fishing and boating town. The Charlotte Sports Park, a baseball stadium with a boardwalk box office, batting cages, and hospitality suites, was revitalized for $27 Million and has brought a large number of residents to this area.
Heading West to the Gulf of Mexico is the town of Englewood, where we find miles of Gulf Beaches including Englewood Beach, and Stump Pass Beach State Park just to name a couple. Local residents as well as visitors enjoy the salty air and the aqua blue waters of these beaches as often as possible. Englewood offers great boating, fishing and waterside restaurants. Charter fishing, Parasailing, jet skis and kayakking are also available.
North Port, located in Sarasota County, just North of the Port Charlotte area, offers a younger population than the surrounding areas, and has many newer homes as this was a location of intense building from 2002 to 2007 and again from 2015 to present. North Port has been determined to be one of the fastest growing cities in the area and is located midway between Tampa and Naples. There are a number of Golf Resort Communities, which makes North Port a great area to retire. The midpoint acccess to larger cities makes North Port a great area for the commuter as well. There are many shops, and restaurants within North Port and Gulf beaches are located within half an hour away.
